In this role, you’ll shape our core backend services, design database solutions for scale, and mentor engineers as we modernize and expand our platform.What You’ll DoDesign, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and database systems using Node.js, Hono, Drizzle ORM, and PostgreSQL.Lead backend and data architecture design to ensure performance, security, and maintainability at enterprise scale.Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to define technical requirements and deliver impactful solutions.Mentor peers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance.Troubleshoot complex issues and guide the team toward sustainable fixes.Contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes, tooling, and infrastructure.What We’re Looking For5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including API development with Node.js.Advanced proficiency with PostgreSQL and modern ORMs.Strong experience designing for cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP also valued).Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and serverless architectures.Bonus: experience with PHP for occasional legacy work and migration projects.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Why Join UsDirect impact on building technology that drives measurable environmental change.Opportunity to define and implement best practices for a growing engineering team.Work with a modern stack in a mission-driven environment.Originally posted on Himalayas
