[Remote] AI Specialist - Product and Applied Research

The AI Specialist will develop scalable algorithms using machine learning and neural network methodologies, collaborate with engineering teams, and research new algorithms to enhance Meta's platforms.ResponsibilitiesDevelop highly scalable algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neutral network methodologiesSuggest, collect, and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmapCode deliverables in tandem with the engineering teamAdapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g. distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU)Perform specific responsibilities which vary by teamResearch, design, and develop new algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta's platformsGather data for machine-learning trainingTrain new ranking models and run experimentsIdentify potential improvements in company's software and technology productsResearch and present effects of current engineering efforts on Meta's market standing from an economic and game-theoretic point of viewDevelop highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules based modelsSkillsCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining MetaResearch and/or work in machine learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, deep learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, signal processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, information retrieval or computer visionJava or C++, Perl, PHP or PythonExperience with developing scalable machine learning models in at least one of the following areas: Crawling, indexing, extraction, retrieval, ranking, recommendations, measurement, tooling, evaluation, query understanding, planning, vector databases, or embeddingsExperience with large scale model training, implementing algorithms, and evaluating speech-based systemsExperience taking ideas from research to productionExperience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and broad points of view to determine a path forwardExperience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environmentFirst author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL)BenefitsBonusEquityBenefitsCompany OverviewMeta's mission is to build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible.
