As a Staff engineer, you will be responsible for a small team of backend and ML engineers. You will mentor and guide your team into building highly scalable systems with micro-service architecture serving both internal and external clients. If you are passionate about building systems from scratch, this is the right role for you. This team is responsible to build, maintain and sustain functionalities that are required for new markets in which the company is expanding. Our ideal candidate has a passion for clean code, a hunger to take on challenging and exciting projects, a lot of proactiveness to make things happen, and at the same time mentoring and engaging the team.What you’ll do:Be an impactful contributor to the team to plan, design, and build elegant solutionsManaging the complete software development process from conception to deploymentDesign and implementation of the overall architectureEnsuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability Design and build REST API’sDesign and implementation of continuous integration and deploymentGenerate ideas for new initiatives and technologiesDomain expert on aspects of the payment processing industryCommunicate engineering concepts and efforts with outside stakeholders in product marketing, operations, business, legal, and complianceWork in a fast-moving, highly-collaborative environment across multiple locationsWhat you’ll need:Bachelor's Degree or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience6+ years of experience in backend software development 3+ years of professional experience with PythonExpert in AWS tech stack including Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis Firehose, SQS, SNS, EKS, EC2, S3, IAM Roles, VPC EndpointsExperience in creating IaaS using Terraform or related technologiesDemonstrated professional expertise in design patterns, security, performance, and usabilityAgile Development Experience, including working with continuous deployment technologies, such as Git/GitlabExperience designing SPAs that interact with REST API endpoints Fluency in SQL for data queriesFamiliar with working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews, and managing pull requestsAbility to understand business requirements and translate them to technical requirementsStrong analytical and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to lead and mentor a small technical teamNice to have:Prior exposure to the payments industry and familiarity with risk and fraud solutionsFamiliarity with SnowflakeFamiliarity with web caching, load balancing Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below.
