Senior API Automation tester
About the position As a Senior API Automation tester you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through both manual and automated testing. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. In this role, you will: Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, including manual and automated testing for web, API, and backend systems. Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium with Java, TestNG, and integrate with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Perform API testing (REST/SOAP), messaging queue validation (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka), and data validation using SQL. Collaborate in Agile environments, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning. Manage defects and test progress using tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Rally, and ServiceNow. Contribute to performance, security, cloud migration, and cross-browser/mobile testing initiatives, while mentoring junior testers and promoting best practices. Requirements • 4+ years of experience in software testing across multiple domains and technologies. • 2+ years of hands-on experience in API testing and automation (REST/SOAP). • Strong proficiency in Selenium with Java, TestNG, and CI/CD integration. • Experience with messaging queue validation (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka). • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and integrity checks. • Domain knowledge in transportation and logistics systems. • Agile testing experience with active participation in Scrum ceremonies. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation. • Cloud migration testing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. • Awareness of security testing principles (e.g., OWASP). • Experience with cross-browser and mobile testing using Appium or BrowserStack. • Strong communication and leadership skills for stakeholder engagement. • Ability to mentor junior testers and promote best practices. • Proficiency in test metrics and reporting dashboards.
