Senior Accounting Manager
About the roleWe’re hiring a hands-on, systems-savvy Senior Accounting Manager to assume full ownership of our accounting function. You’ll lead the transition from outsourced to in-house, build and scale workflows, prepare for audit, and ensure our financials are investor-ready. You’ll partner closely with the CFO/COO to lay the foundation for a high-performing finance function.What you’ll own:Own the accounting function: GL, close, AR/AP, payroll, reconciliationsLead the transition from outsourced to in-house accounting functionImplement and enforce GAAP-compliant policies (including ASC 606 rev rec)Prepare for and support annual financial audit (first-year audit in FY25)Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, CS, RevOps, IT, and PeopleLead month-end and year-end close and reporting processesImplement key modern accounting toolsMaintain internal controls, approval workflows, and audit trailsManage departmental and account-level reporting structureFull ownership of payroll administration in partnership with PeopleCustomer invoicing, collections, and accounts receivableVendor onboarding, AP processing, and expense reimbursementsWhat we're looking for: 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience (public + startup preferred)Hands-on experience with deferred revenue and SaaS revenue modelsStrong working knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 principlesComfort with ambiguity and building from scratchFamiliarity with modern SaaS tech stackOwnership mindset with high standards for accuracy and follow-throughStrong communication skills across functions and externallyWhy you’ll love it:BetterComp is transforming the way companies approach compensation, delivering modern, data-driven solutions that help organizations streamline pay practices, ensure fairness, and stay competitive.
