Senior Accountant, Part-Time
Description: • Role responsible for month-end close, premium tax compliance oversight, producing internal financial reporting to management, maintaining sound internal controls, and audit support • Organized, analytical candidate in a fast-paced environment • Collaborate with accounts receivable to resolve escalated issues and improve processes • Prepare payment analyses upon request from customers • Research past due customer balances • Prepare tax filings including insurance premium tax and sales/use tax • Complete monthly accounting close tasks including monthly GL entries, monthly financial statements, and monthly reports for customers or business partners • Assist with external audits by preparing reconciliations or other supporting documentation • Designated back up for monthly claims payment processing including reviewing process documentation and running the process to validate instructions at least twice per year • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and automation in accounting workflows • Manage area of responsibility in accordance with laws, regulations and policies • Perform activities and functions of related lower-level personnel as assigned or required Requirements: • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, Bachelor’s preferred • Experience: at least 3-5 years in accounting • Familiarity with accounting software (ERP) programs required • Expert user of Microsoft Office • High accuracy and detail-oriented • Excellent written communication • Professional judgment as it relates to interpreting accounting principles, tax regulations and policies • Team player with a commitment to continuous improvement • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively Benefits: Par-time, permanent VBA employees receive a comprehensive, benefit package including: • Employer paid Vision Insurance • Voluntary 401(k) Deferred Compensation Plan with Company Match • Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off Apply tot his job
