You’ll own some of the most complex and high-judgment areas of our close, like leases, capitalized software, and accruals, while also reviewing lower-risk areas such as cash and prepaids to ensure completeness and accuracy.But that’s just part of the job.Beyond close, you’ll help identify inefficiencies, build automation, and implement scalable processes that support our next phase of growth. You'll work cross-functionally with FP&A, Engineering, and Business Systems teams, helping to bridge accounting rigor with operational excellence.What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant at Vanta:Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various accounting areas including but not limited to:Leases - ensure compliance with ASC 842, including tracking lease schedules, preparing journal entries, and working closely with FP&A and legal teams on lease-related transactions.Payroll - prepare accounting entries collaborating with People Operations, internal payroll team, and third-party payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Review journal entries and reconciliations for various accounting areas including but not limited to:Cash, Expenses, International transactionsTake on new accounting areas as the business scalesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are appropriately supported and in line with GAAP.Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits.Assist with implementing and optimizing accounting systems and tools to drive efficiency.Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and People teams to support business initiatives and ensure accounting impacts are considered.Manage close reconciliation tool including identifying best practices, enhancements, and product feature roadmapsHow to be successful in this role:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track strongly preferred.4–7 years of progressive accounting experience; combination of public accounting and private industry is a plus.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly lease accounting (ASC 842), foreign currency (ASC 830), payroll-related accounting.Experience working in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting business needs.Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and comfort working in systems such as NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.Experience with close management tools, including optimization effortsWhat you can expect as a Vantan:Industry-competitive compensation100% covered medical, dental, and vision benefits with dependents coverage16 weeks fully-paid parental Leave for all new parentsHealth & wellness and remote workplace stipendsFamily planning benefits through Carrot Fertility401(k) matchingFlexible work hours and locationOpen PTO policy11 paid holidays in the USOffices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, and SydneyTo provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state.
