Senior Accountant
Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the end-to-end accounting process for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will play a key role in managing financial operations, preparing financial statements, and supporting the month-end closing process. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Accounting:Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll.Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.Generate and distribute financial reports to management, providing insights into financial performance and variances.Month-End and Year-End Closing:Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled.Review journal entries and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.Compliance and Internal Controls:Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.Audit Coordination:Prepare documentation and support external auditors during the annual audit process.Address audit inquiries and implement any necessary changes based on audit findings.Team Leadership:Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the accounting department and implement best practices to improve efficiency.Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring timely adjustments to accounting practices.Financial Analysis:Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for operational improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Atleast 6 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in end-to-end accounting processes.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
