SEND Consultant (3-Month Contract with Local Authority)
Summary
The SEND Consultant will spearhead the thorough testing and refinement of a proposed financial banding framework and will create a transparent, evidence-based cost library to aid decision-making across SEND provision. This role is crucial in ensuring fair, consistent, and financially accurate funding decisions for children and young people with SEND.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed, systematic testing of the proposed SEND banding framework.
Use real cases, scenarios, and modeling to verify fairness, accuracy, and internal consistency.
Identify gaps, risks, or inconsistencies and propose practical, evidence-based solutions.
Ensure the framework reflects diverse needs across mainstream, specialist, and post-16 settings.
Requirements
Significant experience working within a local authority SEND service.
Strong operational understanding of SEND practice within schools and settings.
Proven ability to independently deliver complex projects and produce high-quality outputs.
Experience producing professional reports for senior leadership or board-level decision-making.
In-depth understanding of statutory SEND processes.

Working hours: 37 hours per week
Enhanced DBS required.
Remote working.
Bi-weekly payment schedule.
