Scheduler and Transcriptionist, Pediatrics
Job Summary
The Scheduler and Transcriptionist is responsible for scheduling surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing. They will also transcribe medical reports and perform general secretarial duties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing
• Transcribe medical reports
• Perform general secretarial duties
Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology
• One year previous medical related clerical experience
• Organizational and communication/customer service skills
• Knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application
• Problem-solving skills
• Able to type 40 words per minute
• Able to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility
• Able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system
• Prior experience in insurance precertification
• One (1) year medical transcription or secretarial experience at a healthcare organization
