Sales Support Specialist Job Description The Sales Support Specialist serves as a key resource supporting sales teams and clients by owning the development, coordination, and completion of complex quotes involving hardware, software, maintenance agreements, and services. This role requires the ability to interpret client requirements, gather and synthesize technical information, and build accurate, customized quotes that align with both client needs and business objectives. A critical component of this role is working cross-functionally with Account Executives (AEs), Solution Consultants (SCs), vendors, and internal teams to obtain the technical insight and details necessary to construct comprehensive solutions. Many quoting scenarios are highly customized and require leveraging internal expertise and external resources to determine the best approach. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining excellent client communication. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Account Executives (AEs), Solution Consultants (SCs), vendors, and clients to develop, refine, and complete accurate, timely, and strategic quotes. Additionally, this role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring timely quoting, and aligning work with company goals and culture, while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team through knowledge sharing and support. Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities & Requirements (not limited to): · Lead the end-to-end quote development process from initial request through completion and handoff to the Account Manager, ensuring all quotes are accurate, complete, and ready for delivery · Develop and structure complex quotes involving hardware, software, maintenance agreements, and services, ensuring alignment with client requirements and business objectives · Gather all necessary business and technical information required to build accurate quotes, proactively engaging Account Executives, Solution Consultants, vendors, and internal resources · Collaborate cross-functionally with AEs, SCs, vendors, and internal teams to gather requirements and technical details needed to construct comprehensive solutions · Evaluate and select appropriate solution components, including researching options, pricing, and configurations to meet client needs · Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop customized, non-standard solutions based on client environments and situational requirements · Maintain accuracy and integrity of all quote-related data within NetSuite and other systems · Ensure timely turnaround of quotes and proactive follow-up, supporting the progression of opportunities toward closure · Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and a positive client experience throughout the quoting process · Develop and maintain advanced Excel models, utilizing formulas and data manipulation to support pricing, discounting, and solution structuring · Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent quotes and opportunities, maintaining organization, accuracy, and attention to detail · Facilitate clear communication across stakeholders and respond to client and sales inquiries with timely, accurate resolution · Leverage multiple systems and resources to stay current on pricing, product updates, and vendor information · Share responsibility for monitoring and responding to team sales chat and phone queue, ensuring timely and professional communication · Contribute to team success by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and participating in process improvements and special projects Required Qualifications & Experience · Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field · 1+ experience in quoting, sales or similar role · Hands-on experience with NetSuite · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data manipulation, and spreadsheet development · Proven ability to manage complex, non-standard quoting scenarios · Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and determine the best solution using available resources · Experience working with CRM/ERP systems and maintaining accurate data Key Skills & Competencies · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously · Excellent written and verbal communication skills across various stakeholders · Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities · High attention to detail and accuracy · Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally · Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications Ability to read, write, or speak French (to support clients in Quebec) · Experience with ConnectWise or similar systems · Background or exposure to IT, software, or technical sales environments · Familiarity with industrial or automation solutions (e.g., Wonderware, Dell, Advantech, etc.)
