Sales Data Analyst
World’s Finest Chocolate is seeking a Sales Data Analyst to support their North American retail sales organization. This role involves transforming sales data into actionable insights through dashboards and reports, while managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with national account teams.ResponsibilitiesBuild and refresh weekly/monthly Tableau (or Power BI) dashboards tracking: POS velocity, ACV distribution, % promo, share of shelfCategory growth vs. prior year / planCustomer P&L summariesAutomate data pipelines using Alteryx, Python, or native connector toolsUtilize SQL to query and aggregate customer transaction data from a PostgreSQL database, identifying trends that informed marketing strategiesExtract and cleanse data from: Retailer portals (Retail Link, Partners Online, VIP, etc.)Syndicated sources (Circana/IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, 84.51°/Kroger Precision)Perform period-over-period, plan-vs-actual, and promo lift analysesFlag outliers and reconcile discrepancies with account teamsConduct ad hoc analysis and provide insights for key business questionsMaintain trade-spend tracker; calculate ROI, GMROI, and incremental lift for every door-level eventPartner with Trade Marketing to recommend optimal spend mix (TPR, display, feature)Build post-event recaps within 5 business days of event closeLead analytics-driven projects (e.g., new item launch tracking, void closure initiatives, assortment optimization, JBP data room prep)Own JDA/Blue Yonder or internal planning templates for quarterly line reviews and JBP prepDefine scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables; run status meetings and drive stakeholder alignmentDocument processes and train account managers on self-service toolsSkillsBachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field1–3 years in CPG sales analytics, revenue growth management, or category managementHands-on experience pulling data from retailer portals and syndicated sources (Circana, Nielsen, etc.)Proven ability to build dashboards in Tableau or Power BIIntermediate Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, index/match); intermediate SQL skills1+ years managing projects end-to-end (charter, timeline, status updates, stakeholder alignment)Familiarity with trade promotion management (TPM) tools or TPM ROI modelsExperience with workflow automation or ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, Zapier, UiPath, or scripting)Strong storytelling with data; able to present to non-technical stakeholdersExperience with Smartsheet, Asana, or Microsoft ProjectBenefitsAnnual Bonus: 5% of base salary (based on company and individual performance)Full medical, dental, and vision insurance401k MatchingHSA/FSA & Wellness ProgramsLife & Disability Insurance (STD/LTD)Tuition ReimbursementLifeLock Identity Theft ProtectionCompany OverviewFamily-owned for three generations, World's Finest® Chocolate crafts our own premium chocolate recipe from our sweet home Chicago.
