About The Opportunity

This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s risk management strategy by identifying, analyzing, and reducing professional and general liability exposures across healthcare facilities — including long-term care centers, hospitals, and other medical organizations.

The Facility Risk Manager will collaborate closely with senior risk leaders to conduct on-site facility visits, analyze loss trends, develop education programs, and build strong client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for a healthcare professional with a nursing background who is passionate about patient safety, compliance, and risk mitigation in the healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site and virtual risk assessments of healthcare facilities to identify potential exposures and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Analyze claims and loss data for long-term care, hospital, and other facility clients to identify patterns and develop proactive risk reduction initiatives.
• Provide risk management consultation to clients by phone, virtually, or in person.
• Develop and deliver live and online risk management education programs for healthcare facility staff.
• Evaluate facility loss data and compare it across the book of business to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on facility risk management practices, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client facilities through regular on-site visits and ongoing engagement.
• Collaborate with internal teams in underwriting and marketing to provide insight into client risk profiles and support retention efforts.
• Prepare and present reports on client risk profiles to internal committees and leadership.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, audit requirements, and emerging risks in the healthcare industry.

Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Active RN license.
• 6–8 years of nursing experience, including 5 years in healthcare facility management or quality improvement.
• Proven ability to conduct data analysis and interpret risk trends.
• Strong presentation skills with experience speaking to both small and large audiences.
• Experience collaborating with physicians, healthcare administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (regional travel with occasional overnight stays).
• Continuous access to reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.

Preferred
• Current Nursing Facility Administrator License.
• ARM (Associate in Risk Management) and/or CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) certification.
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare facility administration.
• Prior insurance or medical malpractice experience.
• Master’s degree in healthcare administration, risk management, or related field.
