Dr. Megan O’Connell is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Health Studies with a broad research program. This position is for a national, Indigenous-led project on which Dr. O’Connell is a co-investigator, aimed at transforming brain health assessment for Indigenous populations in Canada.

Primary Purpose: This position will support systematic review work for the development of a culturally-informed dementia screening tool and neuropsychological battery.

Nature of Work: This position will report to Dr. O’Connell, will have the option of in-person, remote, or hybrid, and will entail playing a leadership role on a team of Research Assistants from across the country, completing a series of systematic reviews.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities: Searching databases, screening articles, and extracting data. Contributing to review writing. Attending regular team meetings, liaising with other RAs, and working with the research librarian.

Education: A graduate degree is preferred, Health Sciences is an asset, and training and experience in systematic review work. TCPS2 certification required. OCAPâ certification an asset.

Licenses: N/A

Experience: Publication of two or more systematic reviews, experience with a variety of review types is an asset.

Skills: Advanced skills in database searches, screening, and data extraction; experience preparing PRISMA diagrams; effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; understanding of First Nations principles of OCAPâ; cultural humility.
