Position Description:
Are you interested in shifting from your current role as a Legal Admin to a position as a Digital Reporter? As a Legal Admin - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your responsibility would be to oversee civil litigation proceedings and capture all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools.
The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
Ā Supervising proceedings as an impartial custodian of the record.
Ā Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling duties as a State Notary.
Ā Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
Ā Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
Ā Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
Ā Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.
Requirements:
Ā Obtain certification or state licensure as required
Ā Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
Ā Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
Ā Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
Ā Confidence in moderating live legal proceedings
Ā Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
Ā Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
Ā Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
Ā Willingness to work as an independent contractor
Ā Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
Ā Willing to work both remotely and in person
