The role involves leading the integration of advanced technologies to enhance genetic medicine discovery and translating scientific advancements into therapeutic applications. Responsibilities • Leads the integration of machine learning, protein design, and gene-editing technologies to advance non-viral delivery systems for CRISPR and other genetic payloads • Drive AI-powered strategies that accelerate the discovery of next-generation genetic medicines, particularly for hard-to-treat tissues and complex diseases • Transform cutting-edge science into real therapeutic impact Skills • Exceptional scientific and technical leader with a rare blend of deep computational expertise, protein engineering, and genome-editing experience • 15+ years in biotech or pharma, including senior leadership roles in gene editing, protein engineering, or AI-driven drug discovery • Demonstrated success advancing programs from target discovery through IND-enabling studies, with hands-on experience in non-viral delivery and tissue-specific targeting • Deep expertise within machine learning for protein design and structure prediction • Expert in CRISPR genomics, off-target analysis, and multi-omics integration • Experience with high-throughput screening, molecular dynamics, and delivery modeling • Skilled with Python-based AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) • Familiarity with regulatory expectations for computational tools in gene-therapy development is a strong advantage Company Overview • Mantell Associates is a headhunting firm providing staffing solutions for the medical and life science consulting sectors.
