[Remote] Vice President of Finance and Accounting

They are looking for a hands-on VP of Finance & Accounting to build and scale the company’s financial foundation, overseeing accounting and financial operations while advising leadership and contributing to company strategy.ResponsibilitiesPartner with the CEO and executive team to set and execute on financial and operational strategyManage the full-cycle close process and global consolidation, including revenue recognition, journal entry review, and multi-entity reportingOwn the strategic financial roadmap, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processesManage overall external reporting, including for bank covenants, board of directors, and moreWork closely with the CEO on fundraising, investor relations, and communication with the Board of DirectorsOversee the preparation of GAAP financial statements for internal management, external investors, and regulatory bodiesOwn the interpretation, implementation, and monitoring of all accounting procedures and related controls, including leading technical accounting research with a heavy emphasis on ASC 606 and evolving GAAP standardsModernize software capitalization (ASC 350-40): Partner with Engineering and Product to develop a scalable system for documenting and auditing capitalizable development hoursOwn the relationship with key external providers, including Big 4 auditors and tax providersMonitor cash runway, optimize liquidity, and lead financial due diligence for future fundraising (Equity/Debt) and/or M&A activityContinue with automation across back-office operations by leveraging AI, automation tools, and workflows to accelerate the monthly close and improve the accuracy of real-time financial reportingOwn equity administration including the accounting for share-based compensation (ASC 718) and maintaining the company’s cap tableBuild, mentor, and promote career development for the accounting and finance teamsCollaborate with G&A (People Ops, Legal, Compliance) to build the infrastructure and internal controls necessary for a company at scaleSkills12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with an active CPAExperience with B2B SaaS/enterprise businesses.
