[Remote] UX/UI Product Designer (Desk Phones)

In this role, you will own the end-to-end UX of Sangoma’s desk phone and device experiences, designing for embedded environments while collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of your designs. Responsibilities Own the end-to-end UX of Sangoma’s desk phone and device experiences, from interaction models to execution Design for embedded, hardware-constrained environments with physical inputs, limited screens, and real-time expectations Define task-driven workflows for core telephony functions: calling, transfers, conferencing, voicemail, call handling, and more Develop and maintain UI artifacts including flows, wireframes, interaction specs, and system behaviors prioritizing speed, predictability, and low cognitive load Integrate AI tools across the design, implementation, and maintenance phase of product lifecycle Partner closely with firmware engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and perform reliably in production Work with Product Management/Ownership to align UX decisions with real-world usage, customer needs, and business outcomes Anticipate edge cases, failure states, and recovery paths in real-time communication scenarios Research regulatory factors and usability constraints Support the engineering team by contributing to usability testing and iterate based on real user behavior Help drive consistency and usability across Sangoma’s broader device ecosystem Skills Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience (3 years preferred) in UX and user interface design, product design, or interaction design You are naturally curious, eager to learn, and motivated to understand how design decisions translate into real behavior Demonstrated experience designing, task-focused, workflow-driven interfaces Strong understanding of human–computer interaction (HCI) principles, including cognitive load, affordances, and error prevention Ability to communicate UX rationale clearly to engineers and non-design stakeholders Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar Experience with telephony, VoIP, or enterprise communications products Experience designing for constrained or non-traditional platforms, such as embedded devices, hardware products, enterprise tools, or operational systems Understanding of localization and internationalization considerations Prior exposure to usability testing or field studies in enterprise or operational environments Benefits Extended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision) RPP - Group RRSP Group Life - AD&D - Critical Illness Insurance Paid Time Off Benefits Work From Home - Flexible hours Entrepreneurial work environment partnered with high growth career opportunities.
