[Remote] Technical Writer II

The Technical Writer II will create content for end users and developers, ensuring product documentation is accurate and up-to-date while collaborating with various teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment.ResponsibilitiesOrganize, design, and create end user and developer documentation, including API and SDK documentation as well as developer walkthroughsTranslate complex technical topics into clear, concise language and create effective visual aidsAdhere to style guide standardsFollow product release cycles and collaborate with Product/Engineering teams to determine the impact on existing documentation or need for new documentationFlag documentation quality issues and suggest improvements to the Product/Engineering teamManage documentation tasks across multiple projects, including contributing to major product launches, and communicating progress to the documentation team and managerDevelop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned Optimizely software productsActively contribute to team meetings, including retrospectives and style guide meetingsUse AI-assisted tools for drafting, reviewing, and improving documentation, ensuring all output meets quality standards through critical evaluation before publishingHelp refine existing documentation skills for AI-assisted workflowsSkills2-4 years of related documentation experience in a fast-paced or Agile environmentComfortable using Git-based workflowsProficient with Markdown and HTMLAbility to grasp technical concepts quickly and curious to learn new technologiesUnderstanding of Agile software development processes, including writing user stories and managing tasks in an iterative environmentStrong communication skills, including writing, editing, and diagrammingKnowledge of Standard American English grammar and technical writing style normsAbility to listen actively and ask relevant questionsAbility to work as a productive team member to handle multiple concurrent projectsPrioritize work under pressureWork independently to research and complete assigned projectsAdhere to team processesBachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience, requiredExperience with Cloud/SaaS/PaaSExperience with content management systems, A/B testing, or statistical analysisExperience with Optimizely products (Content Management System, Feature Experimentation, Web Experimentation, Analytics)Experience with Claude code, GitHub workflows, Archbee, and JiraFamiliarity with multiple software development lifecyclesAbility to read and understand code samplesProficiency in HTML and CSSExperience with OpenAPI Specification (Swagger)Company OverviewOptimizely is a digital experience platform for unlocking digital potential, content, commerce, and optimization.
