[Remote] Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise software development platform initiatives across the organization while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end delivery of software development platform projects, including architecture decisions, build/buy analysis, integration planning, and production deploymentCoordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the execution of multiple concurrent technical initiativesEnsure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budgetDefine project scope and objectives in collaboration with business stakeholders, development teams, and technical leads, ensuring technical feasibility and strategic alignmentDevelop and manage detailed project budgets, including cost forecasting, spend tracking, variance reporting, and financial escalation when constraints require adjustmentBuild and maintain detailed project plans with milestones, dependencies, resource models, and critical path analysisManage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using formal change control and verification techniques aligned with PMI standardsDrive cross-functional collaboration across departments, business units, and subject matter domains - including areas outside direct vertical expertise—to ensure integrated delivery outcomesMeasure and report project performance using appropriate tools, KPIs, and earned value management techniquesPerform risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning; escalate to leadership as neededEstablish and maintain productive relationships with third-party vendors, including contract performance management and deliverable accountabilitySkillsCertification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent PMI credentialBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate's degree with equivalent professional experienceMinimum of five (5) years managing technical projects with hands-on experience leading software development platform implementations or modernization effortsDemonstrated proficiency with PMI project management principles, including formal budgeting, cost management, schedule control, and earned value analysisProven ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple business domains and organizational verticals, including effective coordination outside of primary subject matter expertiseWorking experience in the Employee Benefits industryStrong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologiesExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to travel as needed to support corporate projectsMinimum of four (4) years of experience supporting pharmacy management, Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM), or medical/provider operationsExperience with enterprise data platforms, integration layers, APIs, ETL pipelines, or cloud-based development environmentsPrevious experience managing vendor-led or outsourced software development engagementsFamiliarity with healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and HITECHExperience with portfolio-level project governance and demand management practicesExposure to modern development toolchains and AI-assisted development environmentsBenefitsMedical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability InsuranceESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition ReimbursementFree Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy ServicesPaid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.Company OverviewBrown & Brown delivers risk management solutions to help protect and preserve what our customers value most.
