Key Responsibilities
Ā Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the specific needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Ā Facilitate engaging virtual instruction across various subjects, employing appropriate modifications to enhance learning outcomes.
Ā Conduct 60-minute American Sign Language (ASL) lessons for the teaching team as scheduled, promoting a deeper comprehension of communication methodologies.
Ā Establish a supportive and inclusive online classroom environment that stimulates student participation and collaboration.
Ā Partner with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to aid in student development and navigate any challenges encountered.
Ā Remain updated on emerging trends and effective practices in Deaf education and virtual teaching.
Required Skills
Ā Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant communication strategies.
Ā Experience with online teaching platforms and virtual education methodologies.
Ā Strong awareness of Deaf culture and communication practices.
Ā Ability to craft and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications
Ā Master's Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students.
Ā Washington State Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
Ā A genuine enthusiasm for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, coupled with a dedication to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
