[Remote] Staff Technical Product Manager

The Staff Technical Product Manager will shape the digital commerce and transaction platform for vehicle sales, focusing on integrating third-party financial services into the customer journey.ResponsibilitiesOwn the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for customer financing within the direct-to-consumer sales platform across customer and employee experiencesDefine how customer facing flows and internal tooling work together to support assisted checkout, financing support, and exception handlingTranslate business goals (conversion, approval rate/speed, risk tolerance, revenue) into clear product outcomes and prioritized initiativesNavigate evolving partnerships to formulate concrete, executable plansLead the integration of third-party financial services providers (e.g., lenders, banks, fintechs, payment processors) into the transaction flowDefine product requirements for financing offers, credit applications, approvals, disclosures, contracts, and funding workflowsServe as the primary product counterpart to external partners, aligning roadmaps, APIs, SLAs, and release plansDesign and optimize the financing experience, balancing customer simplicity with financial, legal, and operational requirementsAct as a customer advocate to reduce friction, increase transparency, and improve approval and completion ratesPartner with design and UX teams to ensure financing and payment experiences are intuitive and trustworthyDefine the internal tools and workflows that enable employees to shepherd customers through checkout and financing, including:Viewing customer application status and financing optionsAssisting with incomplete or stalled applicationsManaging exceptions, errors, and manual reviewsSupporting compliance, disclosures, and customer communicationsPartner with sales, customer support, and operations teams to deeply understand frontline needs and pain pointsDesign tools that balance speed, clarity, compliance, and auditability, while minimizing operational burdenCollaborate closely with engineering, finance, legal, compliance, risk, and operations to deliver secure and compliant financial capabilitiesAct as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating tradeoffs, dependencies, and business impactAlign internal teams and external partners around shared outcomes and timelinesPartner with engineering to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure systems, leveraging APIs, event driven architectures, and data integrationsEnsure transaction logic, order state management, and financial data flows are resilient and auditableInfluence architectural decisions while maintaining clear ownership boundaries with engineering leadersSupport rollout, monitoring, and iteration of financial services capabilities across markets and channelsDefine and track KPIs such as conversion rate, financing attachment rate, approval rate, drop-off points, and partner performanceUse data and insights to continuously improve the checkout and financing experienceSkills8+ years of product management experience, with a strong emphasis on technical platforms or complex integrationsDemonstrated success delivering checkout, payments, financing, or transactional systems in a DTC, ecommerce, automotive, or fintech contextStrong understanding of system architecture, APIs, and data integration patternsExperience with enterprise scale systems such as order management, payments platforms, CRM, ERP, or financial services platformsExceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across product, engineering, finance, legal, and executive stakeholdersStrong product judgment and data driven decision making skillsAbility to manage complexity, risk, and compliance considerations while maintaining a customer first mindsetBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field requiredExperience working directly with external financial services or payment partners is strongly preferredDirect-to-consumer vehicle sales or order-to-delivery experience is a plusMBA or advanced technical degree preferredBenefitsCompetitive insurance including:
