[Remote] Staff Software Engineer

WellSky Corporation is seeking a Staff Software Engineer responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle to build impactful software solutions. The role involves leading the design and architecture of systems, collaborating with various stakeholders, and driving innovation through new technologies and methodologies.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and architecture of major systems and services, and ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needsCollaborate with solution managers, engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements that meet client needs and business objectivesCollaborate with teams to ensure sustained quality and reliability of our software solutions, and act as a go-to expert by identifying and resolving complex, high-priority issues in both development and production environmentsActively contribute to code reviews, provide constructive feedback on design and implementation, and provide technical guidance to other engineers to elevate skills, productivity, and overall effectivenessDrive innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and AI capabilities that improve team efficiency, software performance, and development processesEnsure code meets functional and performance requirements, advocate for high-quality software, and ensure rigorous testing processes, including automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing frameworksLeverage AI tools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomesAnalyze system requirements or specifications, translate them into actionable work units for the team to conceptualize, and develop high quality software using the established coding standards and development best practicesMentor, teach, guide, and improve the productivity of other Software EngineersConduct system analysis and proof of concepts, with limited architect and/or leadership involvement, to determine best design or solutionResearch and recommend software tools/frameworks/products and/or emerging technologies as needed for a solutionLead and/or create architecture and/or design as needed to meet the requirements, integrate disparate systems, or manage changing technologiesEnforce the development of unit tests, automated tests and performance tests as needed to ensure quality, supporting general debugging and isolating areas for improvement.
