[Remote] Staff Product Engineer

They are seeking a Staff Product Engineer to lead the development of their product, collaborating with various teams to create scalable backend systems and improve user experiences.ResponsibilitiesHelp revolutionize the way people discover the things they love to collectPlay a critical role in building the product hundreds of thousands of users use to buy, sell, and tradeOwn roadmap work from idea to launch, working alongside product, design, leadership, and data to shape what we buildWrite the Go services and Postgres schemas, build the Next.js or React Native UI, and track what users do once it shipsShape the technical strategy, contribute to the engineering standards to which we hold ourselves, and help move hard problems forward when they stallSkillsYou are passionate about building high-performance, scalable backend systems and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment6+ years of experience in designing and building large and complex (yet maintainable) systems, and ability to do so faster than most people think possibleDeep understanding of systems architecture, APIs, and infrastructureExperience working with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and designing efficient queriesYou have built consumer products at scale, and enjoy working with product and design teams to build excellent user experiencesProficiency with writing useful tests and utilizing monitoring tools, and a well thought-out philosophy about the place of monitoring and testing in a frontend codebaseStrong testing and CI/CD practicesYou take ownership of your work with a leadership mindset, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and the ability to drive projects forward independentlyProven ability to work independently on a remote-first team, with experience in asynchronous communication.
