[Remote] Staff Developer, AI

They are seeking a Staff Developer to lead innovative AI projects and shape the technical direction of their new AI team. Responsibilities • Set the technical direction, vision, and strategy in collaboration with other leaders • Drive project delivery and technical decision-making, influencing project success and course-correcting as necessary • Write code and solve complex technical problems both directly and through others • Define and uphold a standard for excellence within your team and across other teams in the organization • Inspire and mentor senior developers to grow and deliver high impact • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve business outcomes on schedule • Leverage your industry connections to identify opportunities and connect the team with thought leaders and partners Skills • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3+ years focused on building products using modern AI/LLMs • Track record of shipping high impact AI products and iterating rapidly on ideas to solve open ended problems • Strong foundation in security fundamentals • Excellent leadership skills on setting technical vision, influence and alignment building, mentorship, and adapting to rapidly changing problem spaces • Experience building or fine-tuning more traditional machine learning models • Proficiency in Golang and/or Rust • Demonstrated experience building MCP servers and/or Computer Use tools • Deep understanding of identity and access management protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, etc.) • Familiarity with HTTP proxies and/or gateways Benefits • Health and wellbeing • Maternity and parental leave top-up programs • Generous PTO policy • Four company-wide wellness days • Growth and future • Company equity for all full-time employees • Retirement matching program • Free 1Password account • Community • Paid volunteer days • Employee-led inclusion and belonging programs and ERGs • Peer-to-peer recognition through Bonusly Company Overview • 1Password operates as a password manager for documents, credit card information, and addresses.
