They are seeking a Staff Data Engineer to help shape and deliver modern, enterprise-scale data platforms, define architecture, and drive best practices for AI-ready data systems.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver scalable data platforms across pipelines, warehouses, and data lakesBuild and optimise batch and real-time data pipelinesDefine and enforce data governance, quality, and compliance standardsSupport the design of data systems for AI and machine learning, including embeddings and feature pipelinesImprove platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiencyImplement monitoring, logging, and CI/CD processes for data systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutionsMentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practiceSkillsStrong commercial experience building and scaling distributed data systemsExpertise in Python, SQL, and either Scala or a similar languageDeep knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and data warehousingExperience with data pipeline orchestration and processingStrong experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/SubSolid understanding of data modelling, transformation, and governance frameworksExperience working with containerised environments and CI/CD pipelinesHands-on experience supporting AI and machine learning data workflowsStrong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsCompany OverviewHarnham has actively chosen to focus on Data and Analytics.
