[Remote] Sr. Manager, Field Engineering

Otis Elevator Company is searching for a highly motivated Sr. Manager, Field Engineering to provide technical support and guidance to service field associates. This role involves troubleshooting, training, continuous improvement, communication, and leadership capabilities to ensure the quality and efficiency of service work and installations.ResponsibilitiesOn a proactive and emergency basis, assist the OAs / OTs on the malfunctioning of equipment, determine needed corrective action see that it is implemented and advise personnelProvide technical direction to branch adjusters and other field personnelProvide training on all types of equipmentCandidate will provide guidance at job sites, distribute necessary written information to familiarize field personnel with service, new equipment & mod equipmentMake regular inspection trips through assigned territory to consult with Service Supervisors, Construction Superintendents, Constructors, Adjusters, and Examiners on problems encountered with product performanceAssist in designing and delivering field education classesHave control and responsibility for the quality of all service work, new installations, modernization and monitoring first inspection reports and field test and data reports and resolving service problems, new installation, and modernizationUtilize the CRC data to resolve problems with the highest callback units in assigned territoryConsult with engineering personnel on equipment issues, report and suggest constructive changes based upon experience with products in the fieldDetermine from patterns of complaints when a problem is repetitive and warrants a change in design or manufacture, seek the solution through the respective organization and see that it is completed within in reasonable time-frameSupervising T.I.P. and Re-Work Log systems to keep costs reasonable and realisticAssist supervisors and superintendents in selecting candidates for adjusting assignmentsObserve all Otis safety policies and proceduresInteracting with Customer at branch level to explain technical problemsFace-2-face, phone, written communicationAbility to influence and help customers through challenging situationGood under pressurePresent to a large groupInfluenceProfessionalism and change management capabilities with customerDriving accountability for the OT and field forceTravel Requirements: The job will require periodic travelSkillsHigh school degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years relevant technical elevator experience requiredAbility to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environmentCandidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customersNeeds to be self-motivated and able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilitiesSuccessful candidate should be very comfortable in a technical environment utilizing Microsoft based computer softwareStrong leadership skills, goal-orientated, strong time management and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of Otis and non-Otis software, as well as preferred experience with current and vintage Otis and non-Otis productsBachelor's degree preferredBenefitsEmployee Scholar ProgramCompany OverviewAt Otis, we are dedicated to connecting you to the people and places that matter.
