[Remote] Sr. DevOps Engineer

The Sr. DevOps Engineer will support the development and operation of a new Stop Loss platform by managing AWS-based cloud environments and CI/CD processes.ResponsibilitiesPartner with application teams to design and set up cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflowsBuild and maintain scalable AWS-based environments to support application needsImplement and manage CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or similar platforms) to streamline delivery processesUse hands-on cloud engineering skills to troubleshoot and optimize environments and deploymentsLeverage AI-assisted tools to create, debug, and understand code, scripts, pipelines, and cloud configurationsSkillsHigh School Diploma is required, plus a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field6–9 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related rolesHands-on experience designing, building, and supporting AWS-native cloud services and environmentsProven ability to configure and manage cloud infrastructure to meet application and platform needsExperience developing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines for application teamsFamiliarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or comparable platformsStrong collaboration skills, with experience partnering with engineers and vendors to establish environments and deployment processesAbility to support end-to-end platform setup, including deployment workflows and ongoing operationsProficiency using AI-assisted tools to create, troubleshoot, and interpret code, scripts, pipelines, and cloud configurationsProblem-solving mindset with a focus on improving automation, efficiency, and reliabilityBenefitsFlexible full-time or hybrid telecommuting arrangementsPlan for your future with our 401(k) plan and take advantage of immediate vesting and company matching up to 6%Paid time away including vacation and sick time, flex days and ten paid holidaysGive back to your community and double your impact through our company matchingCompany OverviewSymetra is a financial service company that provides retirement, employee benefits, group life, and disability insurance.
