[Remote] Senior Tax Associate-Active CPA
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. MDAEdge is a company looking for a Senior Tax Associate to join their tax department. The role involves preparing and delivering accurate tax returns and providing tax-related services for clients.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Prepare various types of basic to moderately complex tax returns (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S and 1065)
ā¢ Provide tax related services for clients (Personal Property Tax, Extensions, Estimated Payment Vouchers, Tax Notices, etc.)
ā¢ Research as needed to respond to client questions and prepare tax returns accurately
ā¢ Compare tax returns to tax projections prepared by in-house Financial Planners
ā¢ Participate in planning of workflow to ensure completion of assigned returns
ā¢ Prepare partnership, corporate, individual and personal property tax returns
ā¢ Client contact as needed to facilitate completion of tax issues
ā¢ Internal contact as needed between various departments to facilitate completion of tax issues
ā¢ Documentation of records and work papers to firm's electronic file cabinet to ensure accurate, organized record keeping
ā¢ Assist fellow department members in order for the department to complete annual tax season goal
ā¢ Daily use of multiple software programs for organization of workpapers, tax returns and workflow management
ā¢ Analyze unaudited financial statements to determine adjustments necessary for accurate tax treatment
ā¢ Prepare assigned returns in timeframe given in order to timely deliver tax returns to clients
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Tax or related field
ā¢ CPA eligible or EA eligible required
ā¢ 2+ year experience in public accounting or its equivalent
ā¢ Thorough knowledge of tax laws
ā¢ Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
ā¢ Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
ā¢ Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
ā¢ ProSystem fx Tax (Axcess Tax), Engagement & BNA Income Tax Planner
ā¢ Master's degree in Accounting or related field
ā¢ Big four or large public accounting firm experience
