[Remote] Design Engineer (Water/Wastewater) - Relocation Assistance

This hybrid role focuses on delivering high-quality designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, supporting regulatory permitting, and mentoring junior staff while contributing to a diverse project portfolio that protects public health and the environment.ResponsibilitiesPlan and design water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage facilities, and distribution and collection systems in accordance with AWWA, ASCE, NSF/ANSI standards, and applicable regulations, including the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). Integrate client needs, operability, and constructability into all designsPerform feasibility studies for water resources projects, incorporating hydraulic, process, and environmental evaluations and analyses in accordance with EPA and NJDEP guidelines to develop optimized, cost-effective solutionsPrepare engineering calculations, engineering reports, technical specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents that conform to NJDEP regulations, NPDES permitting criteria, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulationsConduct site inspections and field assessments to support design and construction phase efforts and ensure designs are implemented in compliance with NJDEP, EPA, and local environmental standardsLead and support regulatory permitting efforts, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including NJPDES permits, Treatment Works Approvals, and Bureau of Water System Engineering requirementsCoordinate and collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams (Structural, Civil, MEP) as well as vendors and subcontractors to deliver integrated, high-quality project solutionsManage technical scope, budgets, and schedules, contributing to the companyโs continued growth and expanding project portfolioMentor and support junior engineering staff, sharing technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and design procedures to strengthen the Water Resources practiceIncorporate energy and water efficiency measures, life-cycle cost analysis, and sustainable design principles as recommended by EPA and national water resources planning guidelinesSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field6+ years of experience in water resources or water/wastewater engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain within a reasonable timeframeStrong knowledge of NJDEP regulations, permitting processes, and relevant federal standards (EPA, CWA, SDWA)Experience with AutoCAD and technical report writingExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skillsValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as neededMust be based in the United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorshipMust be able to commute to Morris or Sussex Counties, NJ, for a hybrid scheduleBenefitsHybrid/remote work flexibility with a supportive, award-winning cult
