[Remote] Senior Structural Analyst (Nuclear Reactor)

The role focuses on analyzing the mechanical performance of various reactor components and working with a team of engineers and scientists to develop designs for next generation advanced nuclear reactors.ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical analyses of reactor structures, systems, and nuclear island components to verify that their performance remains within imposed limits as defined by applicable structural and pressure equipment codes and standards (ASME BPVC, ASCE, and AISC)Work with interdisciplinary team of engineers to establish and optimize nuclear components design consistent with required functional and quality requirementsEstablish and maintain documents of analysis results and design solutionsPerform peer review to maintain the expected quality standard as per the engineering quality assurance planAssist the team Manager and Senior Manager when necessaryMentor the engineers and team members as necessary to build a skilled and confident teamWork as a technical point of contact for various focus tasksSkillsS, M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university. Aerospace, Nuclear, and Civil Engineering degrees are also consideredMinimum of 8+ years of related experience with a B.S. degree, or 5+ years with an M.S. degree, or 3+ years with Ph.D. degreeProficient in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods and commercial mechanical stress analysis and modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS and SolidWorksStrong understanding of solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue failureCandidates should have demonstrated experience in mechanical analysis of equipment or components.
