The role involves leading and architecting software projects critical to the company’s success while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance product offerings.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Engineering Manager & Product Manager to craft the roadmap for the ACT teamLead and architect Software Projects critical to Abnormal’s success with a team of engineers through conception, design, implementation, launch & operationProvide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the teamCollaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams in order to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customersRaise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team, and participating in professional development activitiesGrow into a tech lead role for the AI Security Mailbox productOwn key deliverables from e2e within our division's quarterly roadmap and a subset of the key divisional SLAs/SLOsProvide direct leverage for the team by architecting and owning AI-native workflows to eliminate team toilSkillsBS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field5+ years of industry experience on backend web development & distributed systems, designing & building software applicationsExperience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basisExperience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communicationExperience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasksExpert with Python and/or GoProficient and bullish about AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and other AI native workflowsYou're growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over timeExperience with our stack: Python, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Django, Celery, Kafka, Prometheus, Postgres/MySQLExperience with frontend frameworks, particularly React.jsTech Lead ExperienceFamiliarity with AWS services and deployment practicesStartup or Cybersecurity ExperienceMS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering fieldBenefitsBonus or incentive compensationEquityA comprehensive benefits packageCompany OverviewAbnormal AI is the leading AI-native human behavior security platform.
