[Remote] Senior Software Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will build application-layer systems controlling infrastructure and design isolated customer environments across VMs and containers.ResponsibilitiesBuild application-layer systems that control infrastructure (VM lifecycle, containers, orchestration, queues)Design and scale isolated, per-customer environments across VMs and containersCreate robust abstractions for queues, locking, background processing, and service orchestrationOwn and evolve infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi, Terraform, CDK)Work hands-on across Linux systems, networking, containers, storage, and runtime debuggingShip high-impact features quickly in a rapid iteration, high-ownership environmentSkills6–12 years of experience owning production infrastructure and systems at scaleStrong backend foundation (roughly 60% backend / 40% infrastructure)Deep experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also welcome)Proven track record of shipping end-to-end production systemsBuilt infrastructure through application code, not just tooling or configurationExperience working in Series A–C startups, owning critical systemsHands-on expertise with: Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)Infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform, CDK)Messaging systems, queues, and async processingExperience managing isolated customer environments at scaleBackground as a Founder, Founding Engineer, or equivalent ownership levelA genuine passion for AI and its real-world applicationsThrives in early-stage intensity, moves fast, takes ownership, and deliversComfortable solving problems from first principles, without a roadmapStrong product intuition combined with sound engineering judgmentA natural bias toward action, impact, and accountabilityBuilt or scaled persistent, isolated environments (VMs or containers)Designed architectures where each customer runs in their own environmentWorked in fast-scaling startup environments, delivering at speedSuccessfully balanced application engineering with infrastructure ownershipDemonstrated founder-level velocity, ownership, and decision-makingBenefitsMeaningful equityFully Remote (US / Europe–friendly time zones)Company OverviewHireQ Talent - Your Partner for Intelligent Tech Hiring.
