[Remote] Senior Site Reliability Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who will design, build, maintain, and operate their next-generation infrastructure platform, while empowering application engineering teams and ensuring optimal infrastructure use.ResponsibilitiesBuilding tools and applications to extends Calendly’s infrastructure platformEvaluating and deploying cloud native open source toolsExercising expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and patternsInstituting resilient infrastructure through Infrastructure as codeMaintaining and improving observability of our infrastructure platform, and offers patterns for application teams to consume for application observabilityParticipating in an on-call rotation to support the infrastructure platformFostering a collaborative environment of learning and knowledge disseminationDefining standard practices and tooling around new services, changes, incidents, postmortems, and capacity management, and work with application engineering teams to adopt those practicesSkillsAn eagerness and drive to learn, and the skills for sharing your knowledge with and mentor othersCreative problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and can think your way through complex issuesComfortable working directly with internal facing customers to understand needs/requirements and collaborate on solutionsA strong understanding of the Linux operating systemStrong technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and reliability practicesDeep experience designing, building, and running highly-available production infrastructureStrong Golang or Python development experience; especially writing APIs to build, orchestrate and manage cloud infrastructureSolid working knowledge of patterns and principles for designing and implementing cloud native applications on Kubernetes, such as Controllers and OperatorsRobust knowledge of computer networking principles and extensive experience with cloud networking technologies to create scalable and secure environmentsExtensive working experience with software and infrastructure monitoring tools (especially Datadog)Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this timeBenefitsAll full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Top Performer Bonus program (or Sales incentive)Equity awardsCompetitive benefitsThis role may require occasional travel for company events, team collaboration, or offsites.Company OverviewCalendly is a modern scheduling platform that helps individuals, teams, and organizations automate meeting by removing the back and forth.
