[Remote] Senior Revenue Accountant

The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of revenue recognition across millions of transactions, overseeing monthly close, and scaling transactional revenue processes.ResponsibilitiesManage the month-end and quarter-end close activities including preparation of high-volume transactional revenue journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysesLead the design, scaling, and continued automation of transactional revenue accounting, including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and contra-revenue across GoFundMe’s global payments infrastructureAssist with monthly and quarterly revenue financial reporting packages by preparing supporting schedules tied to transactional activityPrepare and analyze payment processor interchange pricing models and present findings and recommendations related cost savingsMonitor and reconcile high-volume, multi-currency payment flows across multiple payment processors, identifying anomalies and ensuring accuracy of transaction-level revenue dataSupport cross-functional teams (Payments, Finance, Tax, Data, etc) in the development of standard operating procedures as they impact the revenue process and top line results and ensure that all revenue impacting activities are identified and assessed for revenue recognition implicationsAssist with the global and stat audits by preparing supporting audit workpapers and schedulesAssist with new system implementations and integrations by preparing use cases and user testing, with a focus on payment and transaction processing systemsAssist in the development and implementation of controls over transactional - level data used for revenue reportingTrack and review revenue related contracts to ensure revenue implications are documented and in compliance with the company’s revenue policyAssist in ad-hoc analyses and projects across various teamsSkills3–4 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier)B.A. or B.S. in AccountingBreadth of experience in US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition guidanceBasic experience researching, documenting, and communicating technical accounting mattersExpert Excel knowledge is required (record sets >1M rows)Experience working with databases and SQL across standard commercial databases or ability to learn, is requiredExcellent problem-solving skills and experience analyzing high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environmentAbility to work meticulously and maintain a high level of accuracyStrong interpersonal and team building skills - ability to work with a diverse team and impart change across functional and business boundariesEnjoy a fast-paced ever-changing environment where contributions make an immediate differenceCombination of public accounting experience plus 1 year of industry experience at a fintech or payments company preferredCPA or equivalent is preferredExperience with Looker or similar BI tools is a strong plusBenefitsEquityHealthcareDentalVisionLife insurance401(k) saving programGeolocation differentials that will increase pay depending on the work locationFinancial assistance for things like hybrid workFamily planningGenerous parental leaveFlexible time-off policiesMental health and wellness resources to support your overall well-beingLearning, development, and recognition programs to help you thrive and growDiversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing initiatives and employee resource groupsVolunteering programCompany OverviewGoFundMe is the world’s largest fundraising platform, helping people, causes, and charities raise money fast and efficiently.
