They are seeking a Senior Researcher for their Healthcare Transformation Program to lead applied research projects aimed at improving healthcare outcomes by managing teams, overseeing data collection and analysis, and communicating findings to clients and stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day project operations in roles such as principal investigator, project director, or task lead, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standardLead collaborative project teams by developing timelines, coordinating staff assignmentsIdentify research problems and design rigorous applied studies, including aligned research questions, methodologies, and analytic plansApply subject-matter expertise to design and implement relevant, responsive, and impactful research and technical assistance projectsDevelop study designs with aligned research questions, methodologies, and analytic plansLead and contribute to proposals for federal, state, foundation, and other clientsDevise and implement innovative solutions to practical challenges in applied researchLead data collection and analysis efforts, including the design of qualitative and/or quantitative data collection tools (e.g., interview protocols, focus group guides, surveys)Supervise field-based data collection activities, including interviews, observations, focus groups, and document reviewsConduct or oversee data analysis using appropriate tools and techniques for various data typesCommunicate study progress and findings clearly and effectively through reports, briefs, visualizations, and other materialsRepresent the organization professionally in client interactions and manage client and stakeholder relationships with awareness of the broader policy and practice landscapeCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clients, partners, and stakeholders, and foster positive, collaborative working relationshipsContribute thoughtfully and creatively to project teamsSkillsPhD in related subject area (e.g., Economics, Health Services Research, Public Policy, or a related discipline) with 3+ years of relevant experience or master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to translate complex ideas into actionable work plans and timelinesExperience with qualitative data collection methodologies (e.g., structured interviews, observations, survey research) and analytic software (e.g., NVivo), and/or quantitative analysis using tools such as Stata, R, or PythonExperience managing project and/or task teams on research, evaluation, and technical assistance projectsExperience building and maintaining strong client and partner relationshipsExperience supporting business development efforts, including grant and proposal writingExperience analyzing claims and other large or complex data setsExperience working in contract research and/or evaluation organizationsSubject matter expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, or Marketplace financing or policyStrong organizational and interpersonal skills including strong communication skills with the ability to produce concise, high-level summaries and briefingsStrong negotiator and communicator, with excellent client management skillsStrong presentation, professional development delivery, and facilitation skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writingCan collaborate effectively in a virtual work environmentBenefitsAIR’s Total Rewards ProgramReward our staff competitivelyMotivate them to achieve our critical missionCompany OverviewAn independent, not-for-profit corporation which performs basic and applied research It was founded in 1946, and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
