[Remote] Senior Project Manager (Term-Limited)

They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the Humanitarian Services Project Management Office by managing complex projects and guiding project teams through all phases of project execution.ResponsibilitiesOversee project team members’ milestones and performance as compared to project plan, scope, budget, resources, and schedule. Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies proactivelyCommunicate project progress and information to senior sponsors, stakeholders, and field as appropriateFacilitate executive steering committees and status updatesDevelop and prepare written project plans for complex projects addressing tasks, roles and responsibilities, risk, resources, budget and communicationsDevelop work breakdown structure and perform critical path analysisManage the change control within project, obtaining sponsor approval for changes to scope, budget and schedule that effect the critical pathAcquire a project charter from senior management and obtain sign off on the statement of work by the project sponsorEnsure that scope, budget, and schedule targets are within variance and project delivery date is metNavigate ambiguity in relationships across multiple departments to successfully bring people together when needed for project successCoaching project team on how to use PM methodology, templates, and toolsSupport portfolio-level planning and resource allocationProvide input into business case development and prioritizationHelp define and implement PMO processes, templates, and tools; and contribute to the development of project governance frameworksProvide and promote project management best practices throughout Humanitarian ServicesCollaborate within the Humanitarian Service PMO office to ensure there are clearly defined project dependency and interdependencies, lessons learned library, and monitoring risks spanning multiple projectsSkillsBachelor's degree requiredPMP (Project Management Professional) certification requiredMinimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience requiredExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational goalsProficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookAbility to work on a remote teamSome travel may be requiredVolunteer management experience preferredExperience working with executive leadership (VP and up)BenefitsMedical, Dental Vision plansHealth Spending Accounts & Flexible Spending AccountsPTO: Starting at 19 days a year; based on type of job and tenureHolidays: 11 paid holidays comprised of six core holidays and five floating holidays401K with up to 6% matchPaid Family LeaveEmployee AssistanceDisability and Insurance: Short + Long TermService Awards and recognitionCompany OverviewAmerican Red Cross is a humanitarian organization whose purpose is to meet the immediate disaster-caused needs of people and communities.
