The role involves engaging with clients to understand their needs, translating those into product requirements, and ensuring that the product suite evolves to meet market demands.ResponsibilitiesServe as a primary product point of contact for utilities customers, building a strong understanding of their operational workflows, challenges, and prioritiesDevelop and maintain domain knowledge across electric, gas, and other utility network management practicesAct as the internal advocate for utilities customers, ensuring their needs are understood and appropriately representedWork with existing customers to capture, refine, and document requirements for existing customizationsTranslate customer-specific implementations into scalable, broadly applicable product capabilitiesPartner with engineering to ensure new functionality is designed to meet general market needs rather than single-customer use casesHelp define acceptance criteria and validate that delivered features meet both customer and product standardsCreate clear and actionable product requirements, including functional and non-functional specificationsWork with Product Owners and engineering teams to prioritize enhancements, defects, and customer-driven initiativesBalance competing priorities across customer commitments, product health, and strategic directionSupport new sales efforts by participating in customer discussions, demonstrations, and solution alignmentHelp articulate how 3-GIS products meet utilities industry needs, even as offerings continue to evolveProvide input into proposals, RFP responses, and solution positioningCollaborate closely with engineering, support, services, and sales to ensure alignment across delivery and customer expectationsSupport go-to-market messaging by providing utilities-specific insights and use casesWork with services and support teams to understand implementation challenges and recurring customer issuesContribute to ongoing assessment of the utilities market, including customer needs, competitive positioning, and product viabilityProvide input into product strategy, including identifying gaps, risks, and opportunitiesEvaluate when existing functionality should be enhanced, standardized, or retiredSkillsBachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, consulting, or a customer-facing technical role5+ years of working knowledge of electric utility network operations including how utilities use GIS for asset management, field operations, and network documentationExperience working with customer requirements and translating them into technical specificationsFamiliarity with GIS platforms (Esri preferred)Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work across technical and business teamsAbility to operate effectively in evolving product and market conditionsStrong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented mindsetExperience with utility network models or asset management systemsExperience working with customized enterprise software environmentsFamiliarity with SaaS or enterprise software product lifecycleExperience supporting sales or pre-sales engagementsWorking knowledge of electric utility network operations in the gas & water domain including how utilities use GIS for asset management, field operations, and network documentationBenefitsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.This is a remote work-from-home position.Company Overview3-GIS Network Solutions provides simple, smart, fast GIS solutions for fiber network planning, design, construction, and management.
