The role involves supporting Cognos environments, providing on-call support, and ensuring the stability and performance of BI applications.ResponsibilitiesThe Advanced Analytics Cognos Administrator is responsible for the Installation configuration, administration, developer support, and on-call support of the reporting and analytical solutions for the business communityThe Cognos Administrator is responsible for support and upgrade environments to Cognos v11 and for internal customer (reporting developers) facing activities of proposing solutions, and validating that these solutions meet the needs of the businessThe Cognos Administrator must have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsThe team member will have exposure to tool administration, installation, configuration, code deployment, security administration, data analysis, querying and troubleshootingThe job entails working with all aspects of Cognos in a Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store environment interacting with business units and enabling groupsAdministrate the BI applicationsProvide a stable production environment that meets performance needs and make adjustments as neededResolve production issues in a timely manner including on-call support as needed and maintain audit/securityWorking with other internal and external resources, plan and manage BI system implementations and upgrades, license management, security, and future/additional product evaluations for the business intelligence applications as neededMaintain and monitor all BI environments including development, test, production, and disaster recoveryCross-train and coordinate with team members in order to provide seamless and consistent system supportProactively develop, coordinate, and provide on-going training, functional, and technical direction to the super-users (content developers)Research functionality and technical configuration within the BI systems supported by the BI Applications group and prepare recommendations for system improvements whenever possibleProvide Management with regular and timely status reports and benchmarking metrics of projects, issues, system implementations and upgradesCreate documentation for project status reports, timelines, project issues and risks, change requests, requirements, design, testing plans and test cases as needed for assigned projectsDefine and document application best practices, required standards, processes, and guidelines regarding the use and administration of the BI toolsTechnical interface with IT local landscape teams, and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams Work with IT Local Landscape teams, DIAA Teams, Project Managers, Team Leads, and Technical Leads, as well as representatives from vendors to identify and resolve issues and remove obstacles in achieving the Advanced analytics objectivesPartners and consults with business partners to understand their business requirements;
