They are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a diverse team of engineers in navigating the resource interconnection process across various utilities in the Southeast, ensuring client success through technical guidance and strategic growth initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and empower a diverse team of engineers fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovationWhen required, step in to perform advanced interconnection studies and support the team in troubleshooting complex issuesDemonstrate extreme ownership by taking responsibility for outcomes, decisions, and overall team successEnhance internal capability by coaching staff on both technical and client-facing skillsEnhance delivery frameworks, QA/QC processes, and drive cross collaboration to ensure the team scales effectivelyServe as a trusted advisor to generation and large developers helping them navigate SERC's evolving interconnection landscapeTranslate complex technical issues into clear and actionable insights that accelerate client decision-making and support project successLeverage strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to gather necessary input and make informed recommendations even in situations where there is inherent ambiguityLead reviews of interconnection studies and identify creative pathways to remove roadblocks and expedite projectsIdentify and pursue new service lines and productsLead proposal and RFP development effortsContribute thought leadership through conferences, technical papers, and industry forumsDrive the development of internal tools and analytics that strengthen EPE’s position in the marketSkillsMinimum 4 years of experience in the electric energy industry and ideally having a solid technical background in transmission planning or interconnectionStrong understanding of power system analysis and associated software tools (e.g., PSS/E, TARA PSCAD, PSLF, or PowerWorld)Proven ability to connect the dots between technical depth and commercial strategyExceptional communicator who can influence, create alignment and make decisions confidently under uncertaintyStrong understanding of the interconnection requirements of at least one major utility in SERCStrong written and verbal communication and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionDirect experience working at a Utility within SERC or on behalf of these entities as a consultantExperience with performing load interconnection studiesExperience in IBR modelling and/or load modellingBenefitsComprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for youGenerous PTO and paid holidaysMyShare Employee Ownership ProgramWork with industry leaders401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)Company OverviewElectric Power Engineers, Inc.
