This role involves developing and executing the U.S. market access strategy for the Pegtibatinase program, ensuring optimal patient access and commercial success while collaborating with various teams to address payer needs and support product launch readiness.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of comprehensive U.S. payer and reimbursement strategies to maximize patient access, product adoption, and long-term brand performanceDevelop segment-specific value propositions and access strategies tailored to commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and integrated delivery system stakeholdersServe as the primary market access representative on launch readiness, brand planning, and lifecycle management teamsLead market access launch planning and readiness activities to support a successful PegT commercialization in the U.S. and selected ex-U.S. marketsEstablish foundational strategies across pricing, contracting, patient support services, trade and distribution, payer engagement, reimbursement, and access analyticsPartner with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate market access risks and barriers prior to launchLead development of payer-focused value communications, including AMCP dossiers, value dossiers, economic models, payer presentations, and other evidence-based resourcesEnsure all market access materials are scientifically rigorous, compliant, and aligned with brand strategyCollaborate with Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Commercial teams to strengthen stakeholder perceptions of PegT's clinical, economic, and humanistic valueLead development of launch pricing recommendations, gross-to-net strategies, and payer contracting approachesPartner with Finance, Commercial Operations, and Market Access leadership to evaluate pricing scenarios and business implicationsMonitor market dynamics and competitive trends to inform pricing and access decisions throughout the product lifecyclePartner with HEOR and Medical Affairs to identify evidence gaps, prioritize payer-relevant research, and shape evidence-generation strategiesGuide post-hoc analyses, economic modeling, and real-world evidence initiatives that support payer decision-makingTranslate clinical and economic evidence into compelling access narratives for external stakeholdersMonitor payer policy changes, reimbursement trends, competitor strategies, and legislative developments to proactively adjust market access plansLead payer market research, advisory boards, and insight-generation activities to inform strategic and tactical decisionsIntegrate payer insights into brand strategy, forecasting assumptions, and lifecycle planningCollaborate closely with field market access, reimbursement, medical, marketing, government affairs, legal, and commercial teams to align on access objectives and execution plansProvide strategic guidance, training, and tools that enhance payer engagement effectivenessSupport implementation and pull-through initiatives that improve access outcomes and field executionDevelop and manage market access research, consulting, and promotional budgetsEnsure effective allocation of resources to support strategic priorities and business objectivesContribute to forecasting, planning, and financial discussions related to market access investmentsSupport promotional review processes and ensure market access materials comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate standardsMaintain a deep understanding of evolving healthcare policy and compliance requirements relevant to payer engagement and value communicationsSkillsBachelor's degree required12+ years' years of combined relevant work experience in market access, sales, marketing, sales operations, HEOR, payer analytics, market research or strategic brand consulting in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry5+ years with progressive leadership experienceDemonstrated experience supporting specialty, rare disease, or orphan productsExperience leading market access strategy for product launchesDeep understanding of U.S. payer, reimbursement, pricing, and contracting dynamicsExperience developing market access strategies for biologics, enzyme replacement therapies, or injectable specialty productsFamiliarity with limited-distribution and specialty pharmacy channel strategiesStrong analytical, strategic, and financial acumen, including understanding of gross-to-net economics, P&L drivers, gross margin, COGS, and forecastingProven ability to translate complex clinical and economic evidence into compelling stakeholder narrativesExperience developing payer segmentation, market research programs, and actionable customer insightsStrong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, influence, and executive presentation skillsAbility to travel up to 30% domesticallyAll positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego.
