[Remote] Senior Data Platform Configuration Consultant

Elantis is a company focused on Data & Security Services, and they are seeking a Senior Data Platform Configuration Consultant to manage the onboarding and configuration of data-source connectors for large regulated enterprises. The role involves translating client objectives into use cases, designing workflows, and managing client relationships within compliance constraints.ResponsibilitiesOnboard and configure data-source connectors across on-premises systems — relational and legacy databases, file/object stores, data warehouses, and mainframe — within the client’s own data centerTune sensitive-data classifiers, discovery rules, and detection logic to maximize precision and recall against the client’s real data; reduce false positives and validate classification accuracyBuild and refine the data context / lineage model — linking data to identity, access, usage, flow, and risk signalsMap automated controls and reporting to applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GLBA, and sector-specific requirements)Document configuration baselines, run validation/acceptance testing, and produce hand-off and run-book materialsTranslate client objectives into concrete platform use cases (DSPM posture, DLP, privacy/DSAR automation, AI data-readiness, access intelligence)Design and stand up continuous, repeatable data workflows that feed downstream governance, security, and AI initiativesIntegrate platform outputs with the client’s existing security and data stack (SIEM, IAM, data catalogs, remediation tooling)Advise client stakeholders on operating model, prioritization, and a roadmap for expanding value over timeServe as the trusted technical owner on the engagement; manage scope, status, risks, and stakeholder communication with Elantis and partner teamsOperate within client change-control, security, and compliance constraints common to regulated enterprisesCapture reusable assets and feedback to strengthen Elantis delivery playbooksSkills6+ years in data security, data governance, or data engineering, including 3+ years deploying or configuring enterprise data-security / data-management platforms in client-facing or internal-delivery rolesHands-on experience with one or more DSPM, data discovery & classification, data catalog, or DLP platforms (e.g., 1touch.io/Kontxtual, Microsoft Purview, BigID, Securiti, Wiz, Varonis, IBM Guardium, Collibra, or similar)Strong working knowledge of data classification concepts, sensitive-data types (PII/PHI/PCI), and how classification accuracy is measured and tunedProficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred); comfortable with APIs and integration workHands-on experience deploying and configuring software in on-premises / client-data-center environments, including restricted, segmented, or air-gapped networks with strict change controlExperience connecting and working across heterogeneous on-premises data sources — relational and legacy databases, data warehouses, object/file stores, and ideally mainframePractical understanding of at least one major regulatory framework (HIPAA, PCI DSS, GLBA, GDPR, SOX) and how technical controls map to itDemonstrated success delivering in large, regulated enterprise environments with formal change-control and security reviewExcellent client-facing communication — able to translate technical findings into business and compliance languageDirect experience with the partner platform ecosystem (network-based / supervised-AI data discovery, contextual data graphs, AI-data-readiness)Familiarity with on-premises infrastructure — Linux/Windows server administration, virtualization (VMware), containers, networking (spans/taps), and on-prem identity/access toolingExposure to AI/GenAI governance, agentic-AI data controls, or data-pipeline enablement for AIRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CIPP, CDMP, cloud security certs)Prior pre-sales / solution-engineering or proof-of-concept experience — a plus, given the future path of this roleCompany OverviewElantis is an enterprise and public-sector focused AI services and technology consulting firm delivering AI engineering, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data systems, and governed workforce solutions.
