[Remote] Senior Data Analyst, Payments Platform

The Senior Data Analyst for Payments will leverage analytical expertise to monitor and improve the payments infrastructure, ensuring efficiency and compliance while working with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop strategies to improve payment-processing efficiency and reduce operational risk
ā¢ Identify opportunities to optimize our processing strategies and customer interventions. Work with stakeholders to prioritize and plan for improvement
ā¢ Collaborate with software engineers, data science, operations, finance, and product managers to implement and measure new strategies and enhancements to the platform
ā¢ Create automated monitors to systematically detect anomalies, identify discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud, and take appropriate action
ā¢ Conduct thorough investigations into payment-related issues, errors, and returns. Collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies promptly
ā¢ Develop and maintain detailed documentation of payment processes, procedures, and workflows. Mentor and train others on the same
ā¢ Perform reconciliations and audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity
ā¢ Support cross-functional projects and initiatives related to payment systems and operations
Skills
ā¢ 5+ years of experience in payment operations or a similar role within the fintech, banking, or payments industry
ā¢ Proficiency in utilizing analytical tools and software for data analysis and reporting (e.g., SQL, Python)
ā¢ Strong understanding of payment systems, including ACH, card networks, and emerging payment technologies
ā¢ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights
ā¢ Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
ā¢ Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or another analytical field
ā¢ Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, AML, and other relevant standards is a plus
