They are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead complex client relationships, develop benefits strategies, and mentor team members within their Northeast Employee Benefits practice.ResponsibilitiesServe as Client Team Lead for a portfolio of mid-market and large-market Employee Benefits clientsLead strategic benefits planning and consulting initiatives for employers ranging from approximately 100 lives to several thousand livesBuild and maintain strong relationships with CFOs, CHROs, HR leaders, and executive stakeholdersDevelop multi-year benefits strategies aligned with client objectives and workforce needsAdvise clients on funding strategies including fully insured, self-funded, level-funded, and captive arrangementsNegotiate renewal and marketing strategies with carriers and vendor partnersServe as a trusted advisor on emerging market trends, legislative developments, and industry best practicesRespond to escalated client matters and provide strategic guidance on complex benefits issuesSupport retention, growth, and profitability of assigned client relationshipsLead execution of the client lifecycle process through proactive planning and strategic oversightPrepare and deliver executive-level client presentations with support from Account Managers and AnalystsEnsure client compliance requirements and regulatory deadlines are metPerform quality review and oversight of work completed by other team membersEnsure client deliverables and documentation are completed accurately and on timeRemain current on industry trends, legislation, funding strategies, and emerging benefits solutionsMentor and support the professional development of Account Managers, Analysts, and other team membersShare industry knowledge, best practices, and innovative ideas that contribute to practice growthCollaborate across Alera specialty practices including Pharmacy Solutions, Captives, Wellness, Value-Based Care, and other strategic initiativesSupport cross-selling opportunities that enhance client outcomes and strengthen relationshipsContribute to the continued growth and evolution of the Northeast Employee Benefits practiceSkillsBachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent professional experience10+ years of Employee Benefits consulting experience preferredActive State Life & Health Insurance LicenseStrong knowledge of Employee Benefits plan design, funding strategies, compliance, and market trendsExperience advising clients across multiple funding arrangements including fully insured, self-funded, level-funded, and captive programsProven executive presence with experience consulting directly with CFOs, CHROs, CEOs, and senior leadership teamsDemonstrated success managing complex client relationships and developing strategic benefits solutionsAbility to think strategically while executing tactical deliverablesStrong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsProactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environmentExperience consulting on large and complex Employee Benefits programsFamiliarity with pharmacy strategy, Rx carve-outs, point solutions, wellness programs, value-based care, and captive arrangementsExperience mentoring, coaching, or developing junior team membersPrior experience within a national, regional, or large-market consulting environmentAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPointBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage401(k)Generous PTOProfessional development opportunitiesRole-specific learning pathsLeadership development programsTechnical and compliance trainingIndustry certifications and continuing education supportPeer learning and knowledge-sharing communitiesCompany OverviewAlera Group is a growing leader, reimagining the complex risk management, insurance and financial services delivery experience through intentional collaboration connecting clients to holistic solutions that protect and grow all they value most.
