This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of cloud environments while collaborating with IT and development teams.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructures using Azure and AWSDevelop and implement cloud strategies, architecture frameworks, and best practicesMonitor, manage, and optimize cloud resources and services to ensure high availability and performanceImplement and manage cloud security controls, compliance policies, and governance frameworksDevelop and deploy automation scripts using tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or AWS CloudFormationImplement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline application deploymentTroubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues and incidents promptlyConduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement solutions to prevent recurrenceWork closely with DevOps, development teams, and other stakeholders to support application deployment and infrastructure needsProvide expert guidance on cloud-related queries and issuesMaintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and proceduresPrepare and present reports on cloud performance, costs, and improvementsMentor and provide guidance to junior cloud engineers and contribute to their professional growthSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 6 years of experience in cloud engineering or related rolesProven experience with Azure and AWS platforms, including managing and deploying servicesProficiency in Azure and AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Active DirectoryExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, AWS CloudFormation)Strong knowledge of networking, security, and compliance requirements in cloud environmentsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectivelyAWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similarAdditional relevant certifications are a plusExperience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and KubernetesFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesPrevious experience in a senior technical role or mentoring junior engineersBenefitsRemote work provides a flexible work/life balanceComprehensive Retirement Package automatically enrolled in The Company Contribution Plan (8-10% annual company contribution based on tenure)Our Gift of Knowledge Program provides tuition assistance and substantial discounts for our employees and close family membersComprehensive health benefits new hire eligibility starts on day 1 of employmentGenerous Paid Time Off includes paid holidays, vacation, personal, sick paid time-off, plus one (1) volunteer day and one (1) diversity and inclusion day to participate and give back to our local communitiesCompany OverviewKaplan is a global educational services company that provides individuals, universities, and businesses with a diverse array of services, including higher and professional education, test preparation, language training, corporate and leadership training, and student recruitment, online enablement and other university support services.
