[Remote] Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Stride, Inc. is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Architecture team. This role involves creating and supporting architecture within the AWS Cloud environment, providing technical expertise, and collaborating with various teams to optimize cloud performance and compliance.ResponsibilitiesWork with development teams to design and implement cloud technologies within the parameters of Stride Governance policiesDocument and maintain cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and proceduresProvide expert advice and recommendations for building new solutions within the AWS platformSet up, configure, and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.. for shared systemsCollaborate closely with the architecture team to ensure compliance of new solutions implemented in AWSProvide guidance to the development teams for daily cloud systems support and troubleshooting activitiesDesign, develop and maintain efficient processes and architecture improvements for managing shared systems and concerns through scripting, automation and reportingAssist in troubleshooting shared concerns and systems using data extraction and analysis via AWS scripting and toolingImplement security best practices to protect cloud environments and ensure compliance with industry standardsCreate and maintain proper documentation, including system architecture diagrams and process documentationInvestigate, analyze, and assist with optimizing cloud resources (IOPS, CPU/EC2s, Memory, Storage/S3) for cost savings, performance, and reliabilityBuild and test prototypes of new AWS services and features to validate technical suitability for improving existing systems and preparing for new solutionsParticipate in cloud architecture planning sessions and contribute to the development of cloud strategiesSkillsMinimum 5 years' experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS Cloud-based infrastructure and Linux systemsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceA passion for analysis, troubleshooting and a proactive and continuous learning mindset, with a passion for cloud technologies and career growthExpert knowledge of AWS cloud technologiesExtensive knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles, design, security and complianceExcellent troubleshooting skills to include AWS services and networkingBackground and experience in Linux and Windows systemsStrong scripting experience with AWS CLI / SDKs in either Linux or Windows platformsStrong experience and understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform)Strong knowledge of source code control concepts, tooling and automated deploymentsPractical understanding of network fundamentals (e.g. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP)Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with performance testing and tuningExperience with monitoring frameworks (e.g. CloudWatch, New Relic)Experience in designing and building application workloads in AWS using common AWS resource types like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3Experience with cloud optimization from both a performance and cost perspectiveExperience with AWS cloud services pricing and utilization modelsStrong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles and servicesKnowledge of disaster recovery solutions in AWS cloud (ex: site reliability engineering, multi-Availability Zone, Multi-Region)Experience collaborating across functional borders enterprise-wide (i.e. within and outside of IT)Ability to pass a required background checkStrong experience with git source code control commands / toolsAbility to adapt and succeed in an everchanging IT environmentExcellent Communication Skills and ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders including technical and non-technical team membersAbility to work independently without direct supervisionBenefitsEligible employees may receive a bonus.Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.Company OverviewStride, Inc.
