[Remote] Senior Analyst, Payer Performance - Remote

The Senior Analyst, Payer Performance will play a critical role in proactively managing and identifying remediation and growth opportunities to improve the payer portfolio, influencing strategies and developing data-centric reporting. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional partners and the ability to navigate diverse environments to achieve value-based care growth.ResponsibilitiesInfluence payer strategies in a fast-paced, performance-focused environmentProvide quantitative and qualitative interpretation of payer performance to help advance Optum Health goalsPartner to develop and create data centric tracking and reporting on key organizational prioritiesFoster relationships with cross-functional partners to solve critical business initiativesProactively identify problems and develop recommended solutionsDevelop a data-driven, proactive approach for ongoing assessment of Optum Health's payer performanceEvaluate financial impact of payer negotiations, terminations, regulatory changes, or other OH strategic shiftsAssist in source of truth tracking for active payer negotiations and/or terminationsSupport partnership with Finance and Healthcare Economics to ensure consistent modeling, measurement, and reporting (i.e., scenario modeling and $ impacts, budget vs. actuals, etc.)Enhance reporting to improve ability to understand, measure and compare payer performanceAnticipate leadership needs; proactively source / package data to inform OH POV and strategic decisionsSupport ongoing executive leadership updates and ad-hoc requestsKey contributor to Medicare Advantage Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) reporting & impact analysisResearch and inform strategic recommendations around value-based care product positioningSkills3+ years of relevant experience in healthcare operations, strategy, growth, or consulting rolesDemonstrated problem solving, analysis, and resolution at strategic and functional levelsExperience building financial models and translating data into actionable business insightsProven critical thinking skills with experience managing multiple priorities and resolving data inconsistenciesDemonstrated ownership, accountability, and readiness to take on increasing level of responsibilitiesAbility to be a self-starter with comfort navigating ambiguous situations and problemsFinancial acumen and ability to analyze financial, clinical and/or operational dataProven solid Excel skills with ability to build models and analyses to assess business impactAbility to convey findings in a cohesive story, including summarizing insightsExperience building PowerPoint presentationsAbility to present comfortably to project team and various stakeholdersDemonstrated solution-oriented thinking in analyzing problems and engaging with teammatesAbility to effectively manage multiple competing priorities amid a rapidly changing business environmentProven foundational understanding of payer and provider relationships in the healthcare industry, value-based care products and/or the Medicare Advantage landscapeAll employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyBenefitsA comprehensive benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements)Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Company OverviewOptum provides primary care and optical care services.
