They are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accounting Specialist to manage financial records, support close processes, and ensure compliance with accounting principles while contributing to process improvements.ResponsibilitiesManage and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivablePrepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reportsSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesProcess invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and on timeComplete commission spreadsheets for job reconciliation and account team compensation determinationPerform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesMaintain accurate financial transaction recordsAssist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysisCollaborate with departments to ensure financial data integrityImplement and maintain internal accounting controlsPrepare documentation for auditsStay current with accounting standards and regulationsContribute to process improvement initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of progressive accounting experience (accounts receivable/payable, reconciliations, reporting)Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skillsStrong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accountingExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasksExperience with multi-state sales taxKnowledge of job cost accounting and inventory managementCompany OverviewIon Exhibits is a Greater Chicago Area trade show exhibit company helping brands make an impact on the show floor.
