[Remote] Senior Accountant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. American Restoration is seeking a Senior Accountant to enhance their accounting and financial operations across multiple brands. The role involves supporting the monthly close process, overseeing WIP and POC accounting, and ensuring accurate financial reporting while collaborating with business leaders to improve financial visibility and processes.ResponsibilitiesSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple business units and operating entitiesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedulesEnsure timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial reportingAnalyze financial results and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completenessSupport Regional Controllers with management reporting and operational analysisPartner with operations and project teams to manage Work in Process (WIP) reporting and Percentage of Completion (POC) accountingReview project-level financial activity, job costing, and revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and consistencyAssist operating teams with understanding financial results and project performance metricsMonitor operational metrics including revenue, gross margin, job costing, and cash flow trendsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and close efficiencySupport implementation and standardization of accounting policies and procedures across business unitsPartner cross-functionally with operations, accounting, payroll, and finance teams to resolve issues and improve processesAssist in developing reporting tools and operational dashboards to improve financial visibility and decision-makingSupport accounting operations across multiple systems and business units, including Sage Intacct and QuickBooks environmentsAssist with data integrity, reconciliations, and reporting consistency across entitiesPartner with finance leadership to improve system functionality and operational reporting capabilitiesMaintain accurate documentation and audit-ready support for assigned accounting areasAssist with external audit requests and year-end reporting requirementsSupport compliance with company accounting policies and internal controlsSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction, project-based, or operational accounting environmentsStrong understanding of US GAAP and month-end close processesAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities requiredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively across accounting, operations, and leadership teamsStrong analytical mindset with attention to detail and process disciplineEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholdersIntellectual curiosity and a proactive, problem-solving approachExperience with Work in Process (WIP) and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting preferredExperience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar ERP/accounting systems preferredCompany OverviewAmerican Restoration offers residential and commercial property mitigation and restoration services.
