[Remote] Senior Accountant

Lovet Pet Health Care is a part of The Aspen Group, one of the largest retail healthcare business support organizations in the U.S. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in the financial statement close process and support various aspects of finance and accounting for the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, contributing to a fast-paced close process.ResponsibilitiesPerform and review monthly account reconciliations in various areas including payroll, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, etcPrepare, review and analyze monthly financial reporting for areas of responsibility within the practice management system and ERP systemAssist in the month end and year-end closing processes as requiredPerform technical research on existing and new standards to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAPAssist in documentation and monitoring of internal controlsWork with other team members in order to standardize practices and proceduresAnalyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, trends and other matters impacting the effectiveness of the operationsSpecial projects and ad-hoc requests as assignedSkillsMinimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting2+ years of related experienceStrong analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsAbove average Microsoft Office skills, most notably Excel, with ability to learn new skills quicklyHighly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within tight time constraints and deadlinesExperience in Veterinary/Retail/Service Industry a plusBenefitsPaid time offHealthDentalVision401(k) savings plan with matchCompany OverviewLovet Pet Health Care is a veterinary hospital providing primary care and urgent care for pets.
